Since its foundation, IIM’s philosophy and practice of interculturality evolved through innovations and adaptation to the social, political and cultural trends of the time, both at local and international levels. Activities and services continued over the years, some were changed in their contents, new programs added to respond to the needs and demands of the public as well as of the institutions and organizations of the larger Québec society. Below these activities are presented by identifying the year or years offered which will demonstrate the continuation and transformation of the public activities at the IIM.
IIM had a policy that encouraged participants to express themselves in their own languages with translation in both official languages. All activities, programs and services were carried out in two languages, French and English. Sometimes a third language was used when required with translation in both French and English.
